Monoghan (McLeod), who had bolted two furlongs previously, got the worst of the start in his six furlongs trial with Orapai (Robinson) and Garrick (Marsh). The first half-mile was cut out in. 52sec., the sectional times being 13see. to the furlong, and Orapai just nosed Garrick out of a win, with Monoghan a length further back. The full distance occupied Imin. 184 sec.

Both Orapai and Garrick went smooth ly throughout and they finished on well. Monoghan’s performance, too, was a good one.

Merry Way (Drinkwater) began better than Glowlight (McLeod) and won by half a length in a'smart sprint from the two furlongs peg in 25sec.

Lady Quex (George), who looks greatly improved as the result of her gallop on Thursday, finished on more solidly on her own over five furlongs in Imin. 44sec. The first two furlongs were cut out in 245ec., ( the next taking 12 I-ssec. EASTER TIME BEATEN.

Little Doubt (Drinkwiater) finished on far too well for Easter Time (George) over six furlongs in Imin. 19 l-ssec. The first three furlongs were run in 39see. Easter Time is sure to be benefitted by his gallop.

Royal Finance hit out strongly in a sprint on the inner grass.

After running the first three furlongs in 37 2-ssec., Gold Dawn (Marsh) finished on strongly to complete her five furlongs in Imin. ssee. ,

Although beaten, Gibraltar (George) impressed more than Miss Chatter (Buchanan) over five furlongs run in Imin. 7 3-ssec. The first two furlongs occupied 26 2-ssec.

Singer (Marsh) ran' right away from Kawhakina (Drink water) in the concluding stages of their six furlongs gallop, which occupied Imin. 20sec. The first three furlongs were run in 38 2-5 sec. '

Beginning slightly better than The Swell (Drinkwater), the hunter Nimblefoot (Marsh) went surprisingly well to beat his companion by two lengths over six furlongs in Imin. 22sec.\ The first three furlongs took 41sec.
