TO TARANAKI PIONEERS.

To descendants of pioneers arriving by the Amelia Thompson and Regina: By the courtesy of the proprietor of this journal we are extending an invitation to those whose parents and grandparents arrived at New Plymouth by the Amelia Thompson, September 3, 1841, and the Regina, to meet at St. Mary’s Hall, at 2.30 o’clock on the afternoon of Thursday, September 3, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the arrival of the Amelia Thompson and her tender, the Regina. The roll of passengers arriving in the two ships will be read, and also a brief description given of the vessels, their departure from Plymouth, and voyage to New Plymouth. Our chief aim, however, in promoting this gathering is to foster and honour the memory of the pioneers and their noble colonising efforts and results.
