DRASTIC DECREES IN SPAIN.
ALFONSO’S PALACE AS MUSEUM.

The Government has issued a drastic decree prohibiting the sale, transfer or mortgage of any real or personal property of the Spanish church or religious orders. ' The banks are also instrutced to prevent any exodus of church capital from Spain. Stockbrokers are forbidden to deal in shares held in the names of Jesuits and other religious orders.
King Alfonso’s palace becomes the property °of the people in September and will be converted, together with its priceless treasures, into a museum.
