MURDER OF A CHINESE
SENTENCE OF DEATH PASSED,
GAMBLING QUARREL IN. SAMOA.
(By Radio—Special to Press Assn.) Rec. 10.30 p.m. , Apia, Aug. 20. The High Court, consisting of Judge Luxford and four assessors, to-day convicted and sentenced to death a coolie, Chin Sung, bn a charge of murdering a coolie named Chan Chong on Jiriy 5 at Apia, following a dispute about a gambling debt. The assessors asked that -a strong recommendation do mercy be forwarded to the Governor-General- of New Zealand.
