This important gathering will not conclude its deliberations. until Friday, Mr, A. H. Cockayne, assistant direc-tor-general of agriculture, who presided gave an address on the developments that led up to the meeting and its Objectives. , Papers were contributed by Mr. A. W. Hudson, who reviewed the fertiliser position with special reference to the problems attaching to it; Mr. E. Bruce Levy, who gave a review of present and future aspects of the “strain”: Position, and Mr. F. L. C. Scrivener, who dealt with lime research at Massey Agricultural College.
