PUBLIC NOTICES. COUNTIES OF TARANAKI, CLIFTON, EGMONT, • INGLEWOOD, STRATFORD, WHANGAMOMONA, ELTHAM, WAIMATE WEST AND JIAWERA. SPECIAL ORDER. Making Joint By-laws lor the Counties of Taranaki, Clifton, Egmont, Inglewood, Stratford, Whangainomona, Eltham, Waimate West and Hawera. is hereby given that at respective Special Meetings of the Councils of the Counties of Taranaki, Clifton, Egmont, Inglewood, Stratford, Whangamomona, Eltham, Waimate West and Hawera. held as follows, that is to say:—A Special Meeting of the Taranaki County Council held at New Plypiouth on the 6th day of July, 1931; A Special Meeting of the Clifton County Council held at Waitara on the 3rd day of July, 1931; A Special Meeting of the Egmont County Council held at Opunakc on the 6th day of July, 1931; A’ Special Meeting of the Inglewood County. Council held at Inglewood on the 7th day of July, 1931; I A Special Meeting of the Stratford County Council held at Stratford on the 11th day of July, 1931; i A Special Meeting of the Whangainomona County Council held at Whangamoniona on the 6th day of July, 1931; A Special Meeting of the Eltham County Council held at Eltham on the 11th day of July, 1931; A Special Meeting of the Waimate West ! County Council held at Manaia on the 9th day of July, 1931; A Special Meeting of the Hawera County 1 Council, held at Hawera ,on the 11th ’ day of July, 1931; a Resolution was passed as follows: — “In pursuance and exercise of the I powers conferred upon them by “The Counties Act, 1920,” “The Health Act, 1920,” “The Public Works Act, 1928,” “The Motor Vehicles Act, 1924,” “The Explosive and Dangerous I. Goods Amendment Act, 1920,” “The '■ Public Reserves Domains and National Parks Act, 1928,” and the several Acts amending the same respectively and of every other - power in this respect enabling them to do so ; the Councils of the Counties of Tara■naki, Clifton, Egmont, Inglewood, > Stratford, Whangamomona, Eltham, ) Waimate West and Hawera do hereby J by Special Order make and ordain ; the By-laws intituled “The Taranaki ) Counties Joint By-laws, 1931” in the , form and words of the prepared Joint j By-laws now before this Meeting and i which said prepared Joint Bylaws s have been signed by the Chairman of i this County for the purposes of s identification; such Joint Bylaws to j be in force throughout the said CounE ties of Taranaki. Clifton, Egmont, Inglewood, Stratford, Whangamomona, Eltham, Waimate West and 3 Hawera.” 1 The object and purport ol the proposed ■ Joint Bylaws are: — ? Bylaw No. I—Repeals existing Joint By-laws and the By-laws of the Taranaki and Whangamomona Counties. i By-law No. 2—Relates to interpretation ] ' of terras used in Bylaws, obstruction n , to inspection of premises, service of notices requiring works to be rectified j and as to time for execution bf works. < By-law No. 3—Relates to conduct of Councils’ business. Bylaw No. 4— Relates to definition of ' misconduct by and sureties to be given by Officers of Councils. By-law No. s—Relates5 —Relates to use of the Common Seal of the County. Bylaw No. 6—Relates to cattle trespass ' and provides for cattle straying on ■’ roads and as to pigs running at large 3 and penalty. By-law No. 7—Relates to use of bullock teams, prohibits the use thereof on ’ County Roads save excepted Roads ’ and provides penalty. , Bylaw No. B—Relates to traction engines aud tractors and provides conditions c for the use, speed and weight thereof 3 Licences therefor and penalty. Bylaw No. 9—Relates to loads on bridges and provides for limit of loads and penalty. Bylaw No. 10—Relates to damage to bridges and Roads and provides for notice of damage, liability to repair 3 and penalty. ■ 3 By-law No. 11—Relates to reflectors on 4 and speed limitations of Motor Lorries, ) provides conditions as to reflectors, 5 speed limit, overtaking vehicles and 7 penalty. 5 By-law No. 12—Relates to width of tyres h on Motor Lorries and on vehicles r drawn by animals and provides for r minimum width of tyres on horsedrawn vehicles and Motor Lorries, penalty, .computation of weight, power df Council’s Inspfcctor to stop vehicles aud information to be given by drivers and penalty. Bylaw No. 13—Relates to Heavy Traffic and provides for closing roads, cessation of traffic during certain months and security for damage to roads and penalty. By-law No. 14—Relates to Licensing of Vehicles engaged in heavy traffic and j provides for License fees therefor, . duration and application for License, I cancellation of License, stopping vehi- . cles, ascertaining weight of load, dam- [ age to roads and penalty. e Bylaw No. 15—Relates to Licensing of a Public vehicles, provides for License e and fees therefor, conduct of Drivers and Conductors thereof, precautions r against infectious diseases therein, 5 number of passengers carried, weight of load thereof, powers of and as to obstructing Inspectors and Constables in relation thereto, cancellation of * License and effect thereof and pea1 alty ‘ ! By-law No. 16—Relates to lighting, of ’ engines and vehicles and provides for i head-lights and tail-lights on Motor vehicles, head-lights and reflectors on Motor vehicles and bicycles, back mud-guards of bicycles to be painted white, lights to be bright, duty of e observing Bylaw and penalty. ® Bylaw No. 17—Relates to prevention of II fire and provision lor fire escapes and provides conditions as to chimneys, b storage of inflammable materials, live e ashes, fires in buildings, providing fire escapes and penalty.
