PRODUCE ALLOTMENTS

TARANAKI’S CHEESE QUOTA,

PATEA AND N. PLYMOUTH CARGOES

Ono quarter of the cheese leaving New Zealand dufing the next two months will be sent from Taranaki; either coastwise from Patea to ocean-going vessels or by overseas ships that load at Hew Plymouth. Of the Dominion total of 85,700 crates allotted by the Dairy Produce Board for the next two months the greatest quantity will leave Bluff, Where there will be 24,358 crates to export. Taranaki’s two ports will send a total Of 21,404 crates, 10,970 crates of which will leave New Plymouth and. 10,494 crates Patea. Wellington comes second ambng the individual ports aS an exporter of cheese with a total of 16,282 crates, while Auckland’s quota is 15,550 crates. Auckland is as usual by far the largest exporter of butter, and the 269,747 boxes of butter allotted amount to nearly two-thirds of the Dominion total of 400,680 boxes. New Plymouth, howfever, ranks second on the list with a total of 30,449 boxes, while Patch is fourth with 30,970 boxes. Third place is taken by Wellington with 37,382 boxes. Taranaki’s quota amounts to 70,419 boxes, or over «. sixth of the Dominion total.
