When Scan Russell and Michael Price were charged at Dublin with assisting in the formation of an illegal military force a detective gave evidence'of finding in Russell's house a dummy mirror concealing a secret chamber, in which were 183 military training books and a largo quantity of Republican literature. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty. The judge remarked that fortunately the jury was not obliged to give reasons for their verdict like a judge. Several jurors who declared that they shared tiio. defendant's views were ordered to stand down.
