CHRISTCHURCH RETAIL PRICE.
EFFECT OF INREASED FREIGHT.

Christchurch, July 23.
Owing to the increase in railway freights that occurred -ome months ago the retail price of certain lines of West Coast coal lias been raised by 3d a bag, but the State depot has not yet taken action. The freight is now 18s 7d a ton instead of 16s. 7d.
