CANDIDATE FOR EGMONT
MR. F. GAWITH FOR REFORM.
HIS NOMINATION ACCEPTED.
Mr. F. Gawith, Eltham, was selected as Reform candidate to contest the Egmont seat at a meeting of about 190 Reform delegatee at.Opunake last night. Three candidates were nominated for selection—Messrs I. J. Bridger, Eltham, J. E. Campbell, Hawera, and F. Gawith, the nomination receiving the party’s endorsement.
Mr. Gawith is particularly well-known for his astronomical work. He was a member of the Government party that visited the Pacific Islands to observe the eclipse of the sun.
