CHALLENGE EUCHRE PARTY
KAPONGA DEFEATS RIVERLEA. . A return challenge euchre tournament between Ri.verlea and Kaponga was held at the Parish Hall, Kaponga, on Tuesday, under the auspices of the Kaponga School Committee, which is endeavouring to raise funds for its work. More than fifty attended. The aggregate for the evening game Kaponga a slight lead, the figures being: Kaponga 6.4, and Riverlea G.2. Mrs. T. T. Jones won the first prize after playing off with Mrs. JI. Gallagher. The consolation prize was won by Mrs. J. Tattersail. T|ie men's first prize was won by Mr. S. Allen (Riverlea) and the consolation by Mr. W. Cuff (Awatnna). The prizes for the evening .were donated by Mrs. Gray and Mrs. A. V. Tait. Messrs. C. 11. Brewer and J. Tatters’.]! were stewards for the tournament.
