MEMBERS’ ANNUAL MEETING.

ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS.

The annual meeting of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce was held in New Plymouth last night- The president, Mr- L, M, Moss, presided, and in spite of the wintry weather there was an attendance of about3o members.

The adoption of the annual report (previously published) and balancesheet was moved by the president, who in doing so gave an able and comprehensive reyiew of the Dominion’s economic position to-day, with particular reference to the' problems most affecting Taranaki. In seconding the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, Mr, T. C. List expressed his appreciation of the very lucid, interesting ’ and comprehensive way in which Mr. Moss had dealt with conditions during the past year, and the prospects for the future. He also Svished to ‘congratulate the president on the good . attendance of members in spite of?,the . wretched weather conditions. y .y* . .: On behalf’ of the chamber the president thanked members for the manner in which they had received his address,and also for the splendid attendance. He pointed out that during the next year there would be some very grave problems to face and overcome. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers elected were: —President, Mr. L. M. Moss; vice-president; Mr. A, M. Purser;- council, Messrs Shaw, T. C. List,.E. C. Hay ton, Ai Bone, W. J. Penn, 'J. A. R. McGregor, G. Fraser, M. J. Neville, J. McLeod, P. E. Stainton, W. H.
