FISHERMAN’S ORDEAL IN STORM. SAFE RETURN TO HARBOUR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christehurdi, June 23. Driven 40 miles out to sea in a raging storm with high seas sweeping his 20foot launch, Clifford Glyraan, pf Akaroa, a fisherman, spent an anxious Saturday night and Sunday. For 36 hours he had drifted helplessly from land and arrived back in the harbour only at 1 p.m. yesterday after having met at the heads a fleet of fishing craft that was setting out in search of him. Friends feared that his boat had foundered in. ' the storm.
