FALL FROM A TRAIN.

MAN LYING NEAR TRACK,

To be lying injured by the railway line outside -'the Parnell ‘tunnel, Auckland, for two hours on Friday evening while several trains passed close to him was the plight of Mr. Cyril Henderson, aged 22, of Pukekohe. Mr. Henderson received injuries to the back and the legs as the result of falling from a train, and he was unable to move. His cries were eventually heard and he was taken to the Auckland hospital. Mr. Henderson left the city on the 7.40 train to Pukekohe. and fell from a platform on to the side of the track at the Newmarket <?nd of the tunnel. The approach to the tunnel is comparatively dark, and thj injured man was not noticed by the crews of passing trains. It was not until about 9,40 that his cries attracted the attention of some people returning to their home near the railway line, : id they hastened to his assistance. Mr. Henderson was carried to the nearest street, where an ambulance (V as waiting to convey him to hospital.
