TALLOW AND HEMP. LONDON MARKETS QUIET. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated Juiie 6, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Tallow. —Pronounced weakness in South American has continued, but at present market steadier. Very little inquiry for spot. Prices nominal and quotations slightly lower. Hemp.—Manila market firmer. Fair business has been done. “K” grade for May/July shipment sold up to f!6 17s 6d, and August-October shipment £l7 17s 6d. Sisal: Market quiet but steady. No. 1 good marks afloat sold £l's 15s. June-August shipment quoted at same price by buyers. Fair average quality, £l5 10s, buyers. Mexican Co-operative announces new price for good white equal to £l's 10s c.i.f., England or Continent. New Zealand: Nothing doing and quotations nominally unchanged. No first hand saJles reported.
