SOME STRIKING DESIGNS. One could spend a very restful time at Cottam and White’s furniture exhibit. A chesterfield suite, upholstered in moquette, simply invites the visitor to test its roomy comfort. Springed edges and very deep springs are embodied, and the price should not deter anyone. A magnificent tall brass lamp and shade cannot help but catch the eye. A bedroom suite in oak is the acme of taste.

Extra charm is added by the quietly-patterned carpet and the intimate touch i« introduced by a small vase of Japanese maple and autumn fir wers. , Cottam and White are also featuring. “Percolux” table and reading lamps. These are just a new article, but are t" e last word, and the ideal thing for the ardent reader. Executed in brass and translucent parchment, when switched on the “Percolux” diffuses a soft ■row that soothes tired nerves. The parchment is hand-painted, too, in quaint figures with a modernistic, yet quiet, appeal. And if one is wanting the little accessories of furnishing that go to make the artistic ensemble, Cottam and White are the people to see. They specialise in side-curtains, bedspreads and pelmets. A bedspread of pink shot, with a suspicion of mauve, was just the thing for'the oak bedroom suite, and certainly no one should be at a loss to pick suitable curtains, either of net or chintz, from the variety which forms the background for both the drawingroom and bedroom.
