SHEAVES SETS NEW FIGURES.

Rec. 9.30 p.m. Sydney, June 8. During an athletic programme on the Sydney sports ground to-day J. Sheaves set a new State record for three miles in 14min 48 4-ssec. He also covered 4000 metres in 12min 12 3-ssec, and 5000 metres in 15min 26 l-ssec. Both of these are State records.
