LAST DAY AT AUCKLAND VALROE WINS YORK HANDICAP. ORAKEI HURDLE TO LANDMARK. By Telegraph.—T'rcse Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Auckland Racing Club's Great Northern Steeplechase meeting was concluded to-day. The attendance was fair and the track was holding. The totalizator handled £36,511 10s, compared with £55,830 on the third day last year. The total for the meeting was £136,978 10s, compared with £184,560 last year, a decrease of £47,581 10s. Results are:— TAMAKI STEEPLECHASE. Won by three lengths, 12 lengths 'between second and. third. Time, smin 16 2-sscc. Paris was in front at the double, followed by Dark Prince, Senora and Quinsilia. The second, time up the hill Paris led from Senora, Dark Prince and Quinsilia. Paris maintained' the lead to win comfortably. Pangolin fell. ORAKEI HURDLES. Won by two lengths and a-half, six lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 20 2-osec. Cristobel was first out and led past the stand from Owairaka, Archeen and Landmark. At the home turn Landmark showed the way to Cristobel, Loving Cup and Kairuri. Cristobel tired and Landmark carried on to win well. Catulus was pulled up and Archeen fell. YORK HANDICAP. Won by two lengths and a-half, half a length between second and third. Time Imin 43sec. Valroe led throughout. Along the top he showed, the way to Inevitable, Eaglet, Standfast and Eager’ 'Rose, and at the turn led from Eaglet, Inevitable, Havering, Standfast and Little Doubt in a bunch. Valroe held on to win well from Taneriri. WINTER STEEPLECHASE. Of 850 sovs. About three miles. Won by one length, 12 lengths' between second and third. Time, 6min Sscc.' ■Spalpiko hopped out from the start and. led past the stand from Kamehameha. Kaokaoroa fell at the water jump and brought down Star Comet. The first time up the hill Spalpiko was eight lengths clear of Kamehameha, Claremore, Mashoor' and Wiltshire. Kamehameha then baulked. Spalpiko was still in the lead at the home turn and went on to win by a length from Claremore. CAMPBELL. HURDLES. Of 450 sovs. Two miles. 4— PRINCE LU, 10.10 (Foster) .... 1 I—NUCLEUS, 10.0 (H. Dulieu) .. 2 5— ANTRIM BOY, 10,5 (Mackie) .. 3 Also started —4 Make Up, 11.5; 2 Apache, 9.3; 6 Easterly, 9.0; 7 Unoco, 9.0. Won by two lengths, a length and ahalf between second, and.third. Time, 3m in 50sec. Prince Lu led past the stand from Apache, Make Up, Antrim Boy and Nucleus. The positions were the same across the top, and Prince Lu entered the straight clear of Make Up, Antrim Boy and Nucleus. Nucleus , came up fast on the outside but Prince Lu drew away to win well. Unoco and Easterly fell. VISITORS’ HANDICAP. Of 450 sovs. Six furlongs. 3—PRINCE VAL, 9.3’(Ellis) I I—AWAKEN, 10.1 (Voitre) ...... 2 10—TETRARCHATE, 9.0 (McCormac) 3 Also started—6 Havering, 12.0; 8 Gold Money, 11.4; 7 Refresher, 11.1; 5 Manawhenua, 10.7; 9 White Wings, 9.13; 2 Gay Lap, 9.8; 4 King Ford, 9.3; 13 Big Bertha, 9.0; 12 Rafflight, 9.0; 11 Grand Talk, 9.0; 14 Full Measure, 9.0. Won by a length, half a length between second and third. Time, lipin 16 1Awaken was the early loader from Tetrarchate and King Ford but lost her position at the turn. Prince Vai and Klug Ford were together with Full Measure, Rafflight, Gay Lap, Tetrarchate and Awaken next. Prince Vai held on to win by a length from Awaken. CARBINE PLATE.
