Sydney, Juno 8. \’he New Zealand University Rugby team beat Western Districts at Orange to-day by 2-1 to 7. The scorers were Mackay (two), McKechnie (two), McCurdy and Peacock. Ewart and Mackay kicked goals. The ground was sodden. The visitors excelled in all department of the game. The weight, combination and condition of the forwards and the fleetness of the backs were responsible for the half-time lead of 21 to nil.
The second half was more evenly contested, though the New Zealanders were not pressed, each side gaining a try and the Western Districts full-back kicking a field goal.
