MOLLISON’S PLANE CRASHES

AUSTRALIA-ENGLAND FLIGHT. MACHINE COMPLETELY WRECKED. jjy Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Darwin, June 7. The airman Mr. J. A. Mollison arrived at Darwin in preparation for his flight from Australia to England. When taking off for England shortly after midnight he rose well but found the plane was overloaded and in coming down he struck a fence at the end of the aerodrome. Mollison jumped or fell out before the plane actually crashed and is uninjured The under-carriage, wings, propellor and tail are in crumpled ruins and damaged beyond repair. Mr. Mollison intended to attempt to break the record for the flight.
