Ope little incident touched the hearts of those who witnessed it at the service at the War Memorial at Gisborne on Anzac Day. WTien the time came for the placing of wreaths at the foot of the monument, says the Poverty Bay Herald, a little girl timidly placed a bunch of flowers which she had evidently gathered and prepared herself, at the rear of the stone. The child and her tribute to the fallen were noticed by members of the Returned.' [Soldiers’ Association, and the little wreath was taken round tp the front of the monument, where it was given the place of honour amongst the more elaborate emblems.
