16 YEARS HARBOURMASTER
WELLIXGTON MAN RESIGNS.

Captain J. E. Dawson, harbourmaster a. Wellington for nearly 16 years, has resigned. Captain. Dawson was granted special leave of absence on full pay for six months. His resignation will take effect from August 31,
Captain J. Spence, deputy-harboiir-master, has been appointed acting-har-bourmaster, and Captain P. S. Peterson acting deputy-harbourmaster. Both appointments date from March 1. The question of permanent appointments will come up for decision at the expiration of six months from that date.
