PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY

DENIAL OF ADJOURNMENT.

SOME OPPOSITION TO DELAY.

By Telegraph.—Frees Association.

Wellington, Feb. 26.

A Press Association message from Auckland on Tuesday stated the Presbyterian General- Assembly which had been convened to be held in Auckland and was opening on March 3 had been postponed. This the Rey. J. H. MacKenzie, the clerk of the Assembly, states is not correct.

The Assembly must meet as appointed last year, he said, but the officials of the Assembly have given notice there will be, as soon as the Assembly meeting is constituted, a motion to adjourn for some months and that it is desirrid that only a quorum of 15 should attend. Some are opposed to delay and the proposal njay or may not be carried.
