PARK WINS SOUTHERN BOWLS
HAWERA WEDNESDAY DEFEATED.
WINNERS’ WIDE POINTS MARGIN.
By an. overwhelming margin Hawera Park clinched i its claim to enter the post-division play in the Taranaki shield bowling, competition when it disposed of Hawera Wednesday rinks in the playoff on the Hawera green yesterday. Of the six games the Hawera rinks, who for the greater part of the series have maintained an unbeaten record, won only two, and those only in close contests. The final-scores were:—Park, 150; Hawera Wednesday, 110. Park meets Kaponga, the western division winners, at Hawera in a three rink game on Wednesday, March 11. The winner of this match will enter the final to be played at Stratford on March 21. This is the first time that Park has won the southern division.
