EFFECTING ECONOMIES
QUESTION OF RETIREMENTS.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. When the matter was referred to the prime Minister, Mr. Forbes stated tile whole question of effecting economies was being dealt with by tile economy committee of the Cabinet set up while he was in England. The committee was still at work, and he was unable to say whether the question of retiring civil servants at an earlier age than was now provided for had been considered or not. As soon as the committee’s report was available it would be considered by Cabinet.
