Dr. Dwyer, Roman Catholic Bishop of Wagga, in his Lenten pastoral scathingly condemns the tendencies of modern life towards licentiousness and dishonesty. He attacks politicians as schemand too often shirkers of work who obtain power by promises and professions of anxiety for the people’s welfare which seldom is sincere, except toward those who follow their opinions and applaud their arrangements.
