Mr. L. M. Moss left New Plymouth yesterday to attend the Supreme Court at Wanganui. The death of Mr. A. A. Kennedy, aged 65, a well-known surveyor, is reported by the Press Aesdciation from Napier. Mr. P. Hally, Comnpssionet of the Conciliation Council, returns to Auckland from New Plymouth to-day.

Mr. Jqhn Kingsland, one of Southland’s oldest residents and president for 16 vears of tlie New Zealand Biscuit Makers’ and Confectioners’ Association, died yesterday di Invercargil, report? the Press Association. had been ill for some months. He wa? born at Croydon, England, 71 years ago, and had been 63 yeafs in Southland.

Expressions of sympatliy were passed bv the North Taranaki branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute last night with the members of the institute in Hawke’s Bay. The branch decided to write letters of condolence to -Mr. H. W. Insull (.secretary of the Taranaki Edubtttion Bohrd) in the loss of daughter, and to Mr. C H. Moore (the 'board’s architect) in the loss of his 'wife.
