GAS IN NEW PLYMOUTH BORE. New Plymouth (N.Z.) Oil Wells, Ltd., report as follows for the week ending February 16, 1931:—Depth, 1337 ft; cased to 1320 ft. Remarks:-Excellent gas show persists. BLENHEIM WELL REPORT. I The Blenheim Oil Well Reclamation Company, Limited, reports as follows under date February 17, 1930:—“It is established that the casing at 2034 ft, 7ft above the point of egress of the side tracked hole, is damaged. The utmost caution has been observed in the remedying methods employed, the possible serious damage to the well always being in mind. Conditions now have advanced to a stage where a flat-faced drill can be employed, and with this the piece of damaged casing will be milled off. It should be noted that this should not affect the water shut-off, the c.emtiit being behind the casing some hundred feet above this damaged place. The casing condition ( is quite consistent with what could happen to weakened casing in a well blowing the large volumes of gas that this well did.”
