LEAGUE’S ASSISTANCE PROPOSED.
BRITAIN’S ATTITUDE EXPLAINED.
British Wireless. Rugby, Feb. 11. The Foreign Secretary, Mr. Arthur Henderson, in the. House of Commons, was asked whether he would consider proposing atthe next League of Nations meeting that assistance similar to that given recently to Liberia should be extended by the League to Abyssinia in dealing with its, slavery problems. Mr. Henderson reminded the questioner that the, recent inquiry into slavery and forced labour in Liberia was set up by Liberia, and added, that should the Abyssianian Government take similar action and invite the League to co-operate he would support the request.
