A meeting of the New Plymouth Caledonian Society was held in New Plymouth last night when there were present: Dr. D. E. Brown (chief), Messrs. Raiikin, Arnold, Williamson, Sarten and the secretary. The pipe mayor’s action in accepting the invitation of the proprietor of Friethey’s Gardens to give a recital ip aid of earthquake funds on February 15. was approved. It was decided to seek applications to fill vacancies in the pipe band. It was suggested that if applicants about the age of 17 years could be forriied into a junior band it would relieve the older members of the continuous calls upon their time. The arranging of a band recital at Western Park in lieu of the one postponed on February 8 was left in the hands of the band committee.
An application for gn‘ Ingleside was received from the Franklpigh Park Hall committee. The secretary was instructed to reply accepting and suggesting a date in April to be arranged later. Two new members were elected.
