NATIONAL FLOWER SHOW
SUCCESS OF DOMINION’S FIRST. -ADVANCES IN FLORAL WORLD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. New Zealand’s first national flower show was opened in the Town Hall today by Mr. F. J. Nathan, Palmerston North, Dominion president of the Institute of Horticulture. Entries were received from far and wide, and the show sets a standard that future shows will find hard to equal. The combined New Zealand Horticultural . Association’s efiorts have been crowned with success. The show far surpasses anything hitherto seen here. Gladioli take pride of place, gorgeous colouring and great ■variety having a telling effect. Dahlias are another wonderful sight. Stands of glorious begonias in full bloom of all colours make a beautiful display. the hydrangea section many new colours* are a feature. The show reveals the latest advances in the floral world.
