NEW WIRELESS WONDER.

The world’s first talking beacon is being operated at Curabrae lighthouse, in the Clyde. It consists of a radio-gramo-phone, and is used in conjunction witii a foghorn. The invention is based on the fact that radio waves travel faster than sound. The radio-gramophone gives, every 70 seconds, the name “Cumbrae,”. and then the foghorn gives three blasts. The beacon was invented by Mr. Charles Stevenson, a son of Mr. Alan Stevenson, who is related to the late Robert Louis Stevenson,
