SCHNEIDER CUP RACE ENTRY
GOVERNMENT RECONSIDERING. INCREASED SPEED POSSIBLE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 27. Replying to a deputation of members of the House of Commons, including Commander Locker Lampson and Sir Philip Sassoon, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald promised to reconsider the Schneider trophy race decision and announce the final decision in the House of Commons on Thursday. Lady Houston’s offer was mentioned in the course of tne discussion.
Mr. R. J. -Mitchel], designer of the 1927-2 J) Schneider Cup winners, interviewed at Southampton said it had been left too late to design a completely new inachine but the existing S 6 seaplanes could be improved and a similar new plane constructed capable of an increased speed by 20 miles an hour.
