PRODUCTION CONTINUES

ACTIVITY AT BLENHEIM BORE

FOUR FLOW'S OCCUR YESTERDAY.

VERY HEAVY PRESSURE OF GAS.

Four flows of oil occurred at the No. 2 bore of the Blenheim Oil Well Reclamation Company at Moturoa yesterday. The total period of activity Avas approximately two hours. It was impossible to estimate the rate of flow and the amount of oil produced during the day has not been officially measured. The first flow took place at 6.15 a.m. and Was a comparatively small one. It was accompanied by a light pressure of gas. The second flow at 10.15 a.m. was a heavy one, lasting for 45 minutes. The oil was accompanied by a heavy pressure of gas which, forced the liquid a distance of 40 feet. During this period a considerable quantity of oil floAved from the bore, although it was impossible to measure the production accurately.

Late in the afternoon and in the evening two more flows took place. Both were accompanied by a very heavy pressure of gas, which during the first of the two bursts was forced from all three valves. The third period of activity during the day Avas at 5.30 p.m. and it lasted about half an hour. This fourth Aoav happened at about 7.45 o’clock and was of about the same duration as the previous flow. In spite of the very heavy gas presure the well is still completely under control. It is stated by experts that the flow of gas is as valuable as the flow of oil. By a certain process, which is said not to be over-expensive, it is possible to convert this gas into pure gasoline. Consideration will probably be given by the company to the advisability of procuring such apparatus. At present the gas is being allowed to run to waste.
