FALL INTO RAVINE
EIGHT FEET OF WATER.
FATHER RESCUED BY SONS.
Swept off the rocks by a wave while fiohina at Fingal, New South Wales, recently, Mr. V. J. O’Keefe was held by his head in a crevice v in Bft. of water. He was released in the nick of time by his two sons, aged 11 and 13 years. Mr. O’Keefe fell back into a ravin® behind the outer ledge of the rocks on which he was standing and was stunned. His two eons immediately went to his assistance and, in spite of the dangerous position they were in, managed to keep their father’s head above water and prevented him from being carried out bv the backwash. Between fainting fits Mr. O’Keefe was assisted to a position of safety and later conveyed to hospital _at Tweed Heads. Mr. O’Keefe, who is manager of a Brisbane bank, was found to be suffering. from concussion, dislocated left shoulder and lacerations to tho face, jback and chest. ' \
