AUCKLAND MAN ADMITS GUILT SEVERAL PREVIOUS CONVICTIONS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. William Buckley pleaded guilty in the Police Court to-day to a charge of sly-grog selling. Buckley keeps a shop in Hobson Street. “This is not. Buckley’s first appearance here by\ any means,” said Detec-tive-Sergeant Kelly. “On August 2, 1929, he was fined £5O and discharged on three other similar charges of sly-grog-ging and fined £25 for having uncustomed goods in his possession. In January of 1930 he was fined £5O for sly-grog selling and in June of last year he was up again, on two further charges, receiving a sentence of three months’ imprisonment. Altogether he has seven previous convictions for selling sly-grog.” . A fine of £5O or three months’ imprisonment was imposed, Buckley being allowed a month in which to pay.
