NEW SOUTH WALES RAILWAYS

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT.

COMMISSIONER FREES EXPERTS.

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.

Sydney, January 16. The railway commissioners have decided to release Messrs. Goode and W. Corry to assist Mr. J. T. Lang in the creation of' a Ministry of Transport. The men have been granted leave without; pay. According to Mr. Lang, the. present railway commissioners will be abolished, along with the Transport Board and the Main Reads Board, which builds highways. The whole will come under the administration of a single commissioner, with various “heads” for the several activities and utilities to be controlled, and the creation of a new Ministerial portfolio will be necessary. Mr. Lang declares that the solution of the railway problem lies in cutting up big estates near the railway routes and the creation of an absolute monopoly in the control of transport.
