The Taranaki imateur athletic championships will te decided at Taumata Park, Eltham, on Saturday. Excellent entries for all .events have been received and spectators are assured of keenlycontested finishos. Th principal sprinters and long-dhtance runners of Taranaki are competing, and the addition of two Empire record-holders, R. A. Rose (one mile) and.S. A. Lay (javelin) will make for augmented interest. The first event is timed for 1.30 p.m. Running, cycling, walkiig and field events will make a programme holding the attention all the afternoon.
