WOMAN GAOLED FOR THEFT

VAGRANT IN WELLINGTON COURT.'

Wellington, Pec. 20. Imprisonment for three months - op each charge, the sentences to be concurrent, was imposed to-day by Mr. T, B. McNeill, S.M., on Clara Rose Kennedy, aged 38, married with two. children, charged with stealing a dress and fur coat valued at £2O, also with being idle, disorderly and with insufficient lawful means of support. It was explained that the woman was one of those who broke into the premises of Barber and Co., dyers, and cleaners,; and stole a quantity of goods.. The other two had been dealt with already, but accused had absconded to Auckland, where she was arrested a few days ago.. She had been before the court previously on a number of occasions and had been leading- a vagrant life. Counsel said that she han no recollection of her actions at the time of the offence and was very sorry.
