TRIAL ATHLETIC CARNIVAL

> HANDICAPS FOR TO-MORROW.

So that there will be no. hitch in the conduct •of the big electric light carnival- to be held 'in Pukekura Park, New Plymouth, on Boxing. Night, the executive of ihe-'.New Plymouth Ama-, tour 'Athletic Club has decidedftto hold a trial carniyaU to-morrow evening, when the new; lighting system will be tried. The lighting system has already been switched on and the brilliance .of the lights will (enable'.’ the public 'to recognise athletes without any difficulty.

The . trial carnival in lieu of the ordinary weekly evening meeting is particularly for . the purpose of giving the officials an opportunity'of carrying out their duties under the lighte.. The. trifil carnival will-be of considerable interest' to members of theftcliib. as it is the last meeting in the Aecond'-' (December) series of competition,'and will decide winners, of • respective' divisions. ?
