A. Ransom, this evening, an official statement upon the Government’s intentions concerning future railway lines , construction will be made iri the next few days. A suggestion that the Gov-» ernment had been' considering cessation of activities on one or two lines; under construction was referred to Mr. Ransom, sv , ho / replied that, although he was not prepared to eay anything at the moment, a statement would be issued in the near future. — •
