“A noteworthy, book,” was the opinion expressed, by Dr. Whyte; Roman Catholic Bishop, on Air. -Butchers’ publication, “Education in New Zealand,” in an address at a school break-up. The book had. aroused a great deal of criticism, and -the statistics’ concerning the morality, of New.’ Zealanders had been called into doribt. It showed very deep research, in which the author pointed out ways in which religious schools • such as theirs came not to receive a subsidy;, z -.' - 1 i “The reasons,”- said the Bishop, • for ■ Catholic schools not getting a subsidy are not to the credit of the general, public of New.
