NAPIER LIME WORKS BLAZE
BUILDING AND PLANT DESTROYED.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. . ; / ..Napier, Dec. 17. A disastrous fire at Amner’s lime works early this morning ( totally .destroyed the building, machinery and contents. The flames, fanned by a strong wind, made the brigade’s task hopeless from the start. A change in the direction of the wip’d, which was of gale force saved the adjoining house from destruction. The fire is believed to have been causfed by combustion as a sequel to the heavy rain yesterday. The insurance'is in the New Zealand office for £7OOO. >
