MISAPPROPRIATION OF MONEY
COLLECTOR FAILS TO ACCOUNT.

A young man, Samuel Francis MeClinchyj pleaded guilty in the Te Aroha Police Court to-day to eight charges of misappropriation of money 4ield in trust. The offences, which were committed over a period of six months, involved a total of £57 18s. 9d. The police stated that McClinchy was employed by D. McL. Wallace as a collector of instalments on motor-cars. Early in December he failed to account for certain moneys and after an investigation the discrepancy was discovered. °McClinchy was placed' on probation for two years and ordered to. make restitution. . , :
