HOUSE OF LORDS’ RESOLUTION.
DYESTUFFS ACT CONTINUANCE.
(British Wireless). Ree. 5'5 p.m. Rugby, Dec. 15. In the House of Lords a motion was passed by 87' votes to 13 to include the Dyestuffs Act in the.schedule of the .Exporting Laws Continuance Bill for the purpose Of ensuring that the.,Act should reinain in operation for a further twelve irionths instead of lapsing next month in accordance with the Government’s decision. Th 4 Bill thus amended by the House of Lords will come before the House of Commons again on 'Wednesday. 1 Lord Salisbury urged that the continuance of . the Dyestuffs Act was vital to the research work done by dye makers. Lord Parmoor said the Government’s desire that the measure should lapse was due to the fact that it operated to the advantage of the textile industry. Dye makers had established their industry during the last ten years and were pow in a position to face world competition successfully.
