RECONSIDERATION REQUESTED. - PETITION IN FITZROY" CASE. Mr. L. M. Moss, counsel for Alexander Townsend, who was convicted at the last sittings of the Supreme Court at New Plymouth of the murder of his wife, Cora Alice' Townsend, and sentenced _ to death; stated yesterday that a petition had been pfesentM to the Governor Gen-eral-in-Council praying for reconsideration of tlie sentence.
