LODGES’ ENTERTAINMENT. »
About 100 children were entertained at a Christmas tree by Lodges Pukekura and Paritutu Independent Order of Oddfellows on. Thursday evenirig. Each child was presented with a gift by Father Christmas and sweets were also distributed. During the evening- the little ’Misses. Morey and-T’reweek gave a dis? ,play of dancing. A [recitation each was given by the Misses Williamson (2) arid Miss Herdman, all of. the items being, .thoroughly enjoyed. The nccompanimerits were played by Air. and Mrs. Bell. The evening was a great success’ rind it is the intention of the two lodges to make the Christmas tree an, annual affair.
