MacGregor Smith, who has-been head teacher there since the beginning of the year. The children went through a short ijut much appreciated programme of songs and recitations. Mr. Brunsdon, the chairman, spoke bf. the good work done during the year, and aaid he voiced, the opinion of all in saying that Miss Smith’s stay among them had been all too short. Miss I. Callaghan, the assistant, spoke of the smooth running of the school during the year and the good progress made. Two of the senior pupils, Bethia Fleming and Walter Bell, asked-Mrs. Smith’s acceptance of a bouquet of cream roses, a ■ clock and a couple of vases.
