Spence, county engineer, a distance of two miles has been measured on East Road to serve as a speedometer test for the Stratford branch of the South Taranaki Automobile Association. It is expected that the indication posts will be in place before Christmas, when a dumber of signs to be erected at Stratford for the information of motorists should also be in position. The vestry of the' Eltham Anglican Church recently conducted a workingbee to repaint the church building... lhe work took five days, the vicar taking his share of the work.
