POSITION OF THE HOSPITALS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. - " Wellington, Dec. .3 1 A meeting of the executive of the Hospital Boards’ Association was held to-day, when various phases of the unemployment question were discussed. It Was mentioned that tho Government would bo well advised to take steps to restrict the influx of unemployed from other countries, which might occur as a natural result of the unemployed problem being substantially relieved in New Zealand. Tho residential clause in the Unemployment Bill would have the effect, it was felt, of throwing a liability on to hospital boards in ease of indigent new arrivals, and the relief which hos? pita.l boards hoped to obtain under the Unemployment Act might thereby, to acertain extent, bo cancelled.
The president of the association, Mr. Wallace, was unanimously nominated to represent the 'boards on the Nurses and Midwives’ Registration Board.
